Post-moving catch-up, part 1!
I've been having a hard time figuring out how to write entries lately, for some reason. Like so much has happened, or is in the process of happening, that I just have NO idea where to start, where to end and how to divide it up.
Well, to make it easy for myself I'll open with the easier topic, that is, my return to online life. :O
First thing I did coming back was get back on AIM and IRC, of course. That was on Friday. Immediately had a lot of chatting to do. ^^; I was missed, despite all my usual fears, and that was nice to know, even though for a while there I was thinking about not returning at all.
It's not really because I dislike my online friends. I mean, they've been my only real socializing for years. I guess what I worry about is the difficulty I'll have in balancing out my online life with the RL I want to have -- because as much as I enjoy my online / computer activities, I also want to be able to go outside without fear, explore this big new city I moved to, maybe even meet some people. I also have responsibilities I need to find the will and the courage to deal with by next month: getting my bank account, applying for a loan, applying for college, etc.
I don't want to lose the things I enjoy online. But I don't want to be a hermit forever, either. So this part of my life right now is me trying to find some happy medium between the two.
Today, of course, I spent a great deal of my day online. Pretty much since 1:30 PM or so (it's 10:30 at the time of this writing, and I'm still scripting Talliska in DR, heh!) But I don't intend for every day to be me sitting online in front of the computer for this long, any more. In fact, I woke up at 8 am today, amazingly enough, and even managed to get some exercise in and went out to buy my new monitor, because the old one was busted.
That's generally how it's been lately: I've woken up anywhere between 8-10 am every day. I've tried to slip in some exercise at least five times every week -- and hopefully more. Once we get things cleaned up here more, I can DDR, or maybe I can go hike in the park again once we can get some mosquito repellant. (The first time we went to the park, man, I got bitten a lot! I was itching all over for a few days.)
I haven't actually done any venturing out alone yet. :( But I still don't have my copy of the apartment keys, and Jon and I have had a lot of errands that we need to do together. I figure the fact I'm waking up earlier, getting some sun, going out more, and exercising is already progress! Or at least I'd like to think so.
Anyway, I'll write more about the Montreal experience next time I post.
Online, I've settled back into my usual activities, for the most part. I did end up putting Emberdays on hiatus for two weeks more, though. (I may actually be needing another ED player soon... NO clue where I'll find a player who can deal with my anxiety problems, though. Probably nowhere. n.n) Most players seem to agree it's for the best, so I just hope it'll help me get back on track and actually run the rest of Daran's party properly. :x
Dragonrealms -- Oh, I'm happy with how things turned out in DR lately. For a while, I was really jittery about coming back because of my usual brand of paranoia: people won't want to include me in Order business 'cause I've been gone too long, people will take over the work I wanted to do, etc. Then I came back and I said "Okay I want to help and I'm gonna do it now!" (Talliska had just been given an assistant position for interviewing recruits.)
So I took some initiative, and now Talliska's actually scheduling and doing interviews! Got one done and another scheduled soon. I like feeling useful, even if it's just for DR / White Rose, and since I know it's appreciated I don't feel worried I'll be left out now.
PSU -- Maximum Attack G is ending this Thursday. I'm hoping I can slip in a session or two before the end, but I keep having all this stuff come up so I can't. Oops. :O Maybe tomorrow night? I did get to play with Clark and Jim the first day I came back online, but we didn't even get to play Sat. 'cause I was in the middle of something in DR. Then on Sunday my monitor died so I couldn't play then either, argh!
I just want to at least get to Fortefighter 20 and start work on Guntecher again. :O Man do I miss guns. Reina's crossbows and shotguns and laser cannons are collecting dust! Of course, going Guntecher means I'll only have sabers and daggers for melee, but that's the price to pay. I DO have Giresta now though (90 PA frags, eep! But it's a great technic!)
RPoL -- I was pleasantly surprised at how much the ST and other players missed me and Jon in the (currently) West game I'm in. The ST keeps saying we're good roleplayers. Well, I had plenty of RP to practice with, from all the Exalted games I've played over the years, and DR RP as well.
At the moment Iyadali and Horus (Jon's chara) are in a scene alone together, exploring an island in the Archipelago of the Exiles. The entire group is split up, actually, in groups of two or three. We also got more players: mostly Lunars, another Solar, and someone to replace our Eclipse that had to leave for RL reasons. Lots of new faces make things fun! But it'll probably be a few days before the characters reconvene and I can meet the new PCs.
Kraken reminded me earlier today that the game is actually based on a premade adventure. I'd TOTALLY forgotten that. It's an adventure made way back when Exalted was first published, apparently, the one where you have to rescue Amarel, Fakharu's lover. He said it was a good thing he didn't end up playing in it 'cause he's run that adventure before. Guess I'll have to start another game so he can play forum games with me elsewhere. ^^;
Wardragon (yay~!) -- We played it just today! Finally! I got my Archana fix and she got to meet Deirdre again. Man, it's been so, so long since I got to play. Even Grey was having a hard time getting back into it at first. ^^; But we finally left Hollow, or are GOING to leave once we reconvene in the hangar. I really missed the Unity, I'll even forgive it for not being a sailing ship or able to fly in the air! (We'll have to correct these things though, before we head to the Blessed Isle!)
Oh and now I have dinner sitting in front of me so I'm gonna save more of my catch-up posting for later.
